Sreesanth Opens Up About Ugly Spat with Gautam Gambhir, Accuses Him of Constantly Labeling Him as a Fixer

The feud between Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir has taken a dark turn. The former Indian cricket team players, who were both part of the victorious 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup squads, got into a heated altercation during a match in the Legends League Cricket (LLC), a tournament for retired players. The incident occurred in Surat on Wednesday and tensions between the two had been simmering from the start of the game.

Sreesanth gave Gambhir a long stare after being hit for boundaries, and Gambhir responded with a stare of his own. The two players then confronted each other angrily on the field.

He claimed that Gambhir repeatedly called him a fixer while others were trying to restrain him.

Sreesanth’s arrest in 2013 for alleged involvement in spot-fixing during the IPL had resulted in a lengthy ban. He made a comeback to domestic cricket in 2021.

Following the match, Sreesanth uploaded a rant against Gambhir on Instagram. He accused Gambhir of constantly picking fights with his colleagues, including senior players like Virender Sehwag. Sreesanth expressed his disappointment in Gambhir’s rude behavior and the impact it had on his family and state. He assured his supporters that he would reveal the details of Gambhir’s derogatory remarks in due course.
