A tragic incident occurred in Karnataka’s Davanagere, where a 21-year-old lost his life while trying to avoid a collision with a stray dog. However, what happened next is truly remarkable.
Tippesh, the victim, suffered severe head injuries and passed away in Bhadravathi, a taluk in Shivamogga district, on November 16.
A few days later, the stray dog involved in the accident visited Tippesh’s house. It approached his mother and gently placed its head on her hand, seemingly expressing grief over her son’s death, according to a report by The Times Of India.
Yashodamma, Tippesh’s mother, shared her experience with the dog’s display of “grief.” She revealed, “The dog attempted to come to our house after the funeral, but other strays in the area fought it off. After a few days, it finally entered the house and rested its head on my hand. We felt that the dog was trying to convey its sorrow over Tippesh’s death. It is now living with us.”
A relative of Tippesh mentioned that the dog followed the vehicle carrying Tippesh’s body for approximately 8 km. He stated, “The dog continued to follow the vehicle until it reached our home, around 8 km away from the accident site. The dog was even present during the funeral near our house. Three days later, it entered the house and found comfort with Tippesh’s mother.”
Chandana, Tippesh’s sister, shared that they hold no anger towards the dog, acknowledging that it was an unfortunate accident resulting in the loss of their brother.
This heartwarming story highlights the emotional connection between humans and animals, as the dog mourns the loss of its unintended victim.
