During his time with the Gujarat Titans, Hardik played a crucial role in their success. In their debut season in 2022, the team lifted the coveted trophy under his leadership. In the following season, they finished as runners-up after a thrilling final that ended in a last-ball defeat.
In the 31 matches he played for the Gujarat Titans, Hardik scored 833 runs at an average of 37.86 and a strike rate of over 133. He also contributed with the ball, taking 11 wickets for the team, with his best figures being 3/17.
As Hardik departs, rising star Shubman Gill has taken on the mantle left empty by the former skipper. Gill has been in exceptional form, amassing 1373 runs in 33 innings at an average of 47.34, with three centuries and eight fifties. In the previous season, he was the Orange Cap winner, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches at an average of 59.33, with three centuries and four fifties.
