TIME and Outrider Launch Fellowship Program to Bolster Reporting on Climate Change and the Confluence of Politics, Policy, and Society

TIME Senior Correspondent Justin Worland has been appointed as a fellow in a new collaboration between TIME and the Outrider Foundation. The fellowship aims to support reporting on climate change and the intersection of politics, policy, and society. Worland, an award-winning climate journalist based in Washington, DC, covers a wide range of topics to show how climate change is reshaping the world. His work includes a cover story on India’s role in the climate fight and a profile of oil executive Al Jaber ahead of the 2023 U.N. climate conference. Worland was named the inaugural Climate Journalist of the Year in 2022 by Covering Climate Now. He expressed gratitude for Outrider’s support in bringing these stories to life.

The Outrider Foundation focuses on supporting journalism and multimedia storytelling about nuclear threats and climate change. This fellowship program is in its second year, and Worland will be the second fellow at TIME. Robert K.
