Tragic News: 6-Year-Old Boy from Georgetown Succumbs to Injuries Resulting from September Assault

A 6-year-old boy from Georgetown, Texas, who was attacked by an intruder with a baseball bat in September, has sadly passed away from his injuries, according to his father, Arturo Diaz. The news was shared on a GoFundMe page dedicated to the young victim, Jeremey Diaz, who died on November 14th.

The incident took place around 5 a.m. on September 11th, when deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s office responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of Rock Mill Loop in Georgetown. Detectives later determined that a 39-year-old man named Daniel Logan had forcibly entered the home armed with a baseball bat and attacked two victims. Both an adult and a child were taken to hospitals for treatment.

According to affidavits from Williamson County, Logan struck his mother, 65-year-old Cynthia Logan, in the face with the baseball bat, causing multiple injuries including a broken tooth, facial laceration, and swelling around her left eye. Additionally, Logan struck 6-year-old Jeremy Tang Diaz in the head with the bat, causing severe bodily harm to the child.

Authorities have stated that this was a random act, and Logan has been charged with two first-degree felonies: Injury to a Child and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against a Family Member. The community is mourning the loss of young Jeremey Diaz, who had been hospitalized since the September attack.
