Unveiling the Nutritional Benefits of Strawberries

Strawberries are not just delicious and sweet indulgences, but they also come packed with numerous nutritional benefits. When compared to citrus fruits, strawberries, in fact, contain more Vitamin C per 100 grams. A cup of strawberries almost fulfills the entire recommended daily intake of Vitamin C. Despite their sweetness, strawberries contain less sugar than many other fruits. For instance, while an apple or banana contains about 9-12% sugar, strawberries, according to the Ministry of Health’s tables, only have 5-7% sugar content.

These red, juicy fruits are also an excellent source of iron and are rich in potassium, a nutrient essential for regulating blood pressure. All these benefits come in a low-calorie package, with only 32 calories per hundred grams. This means you can relish a whole 300-gram basket of strawberries, which is equivalent to just one serving of fruit. Now, isn’t that delightful?

In a conversation with Dr. Roseman on the program, Erez Wisbrod, a strawberry grower, shared insights into the cultivation process. He said, “We plant the strawberries in September, and on October 7th we were caught right after planting. The Thai workers ran away and many Palestinian workers have also not worked since then. Some areas were abandoned.”
