India Faced Problems As Vallabhbhai Patel Was Not Given the Task of Integrating Kashmir: Vice President
New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted on Tuesday that India encountered “problems” due to the fact that Vallabhbhai Patel was not assigned the responsibility of integrating Jammu and Kashmir with the Union after independence. He emphasized that with the revocation of Article 370, the situation is now “on track.”
Dhankhar also mentioned that B R Ambedkar, as the chairman of the drafting committee, declined to include Article 370 in the Constitution. In an official statement, Dhankhar expressed his satisfaction that Article 370 is “no longer a part of our Constitution.”
He stated, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was assigned the task of integrating all states except Jammu and Kashmir, and we are aware of the problems we faced.”
These remarks were made by the vice president during his address at an event organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi.
Dhankhar described Parliament as a “serious institution meant for dialogue, debate, deliberation, and discussion.” He emphasized the need to sensitize the younger generation in order to counter the “malicious narratives” of disturbance and disruption effectively.
Furthermore, Dhankhar emphasized that transparency, accountability, and achievement have now become the new norms in the country.
He stated, “The power corridors, once plagued by corruption and power brokers, have now been completely cleansed, and this is a significant milestone achievement.”
