The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is slated for a worldwide release on March 21 for Android and iOS devices. This global launch aims to provide players with the flexibility to engage in gameplay from any location, while also ensuring their gaming progress is maintained across other titles within the Call of Duty franchise.
Developed by Activision, this new addition to the franchise introduces the ‘battle royale’ experience to mobile gamers. It features the Verdansk urban map and supports multiplayer mode for up to 120 participants at the same time. The game also reintroduces one of the franchise’s most iconic maps, the Rebirth Island. Here, up to 48 players can compete using the Resurgence rules. With these rules, players are given the chance to respawn so long as at least one of their teammates remains alive on the map, bypassing the Gulag and rejoining the action as quickly as possible.
Set to launch on March 21 on Android and iOS mobile platforms, as confirmed by Activision, this new installment will also offer players the chance to engage in the Classic Call of Duty action across multiple maps and multiplayer modes. This includes fan favorites such as Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard; alongside classic modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, and their Hardcore variants.
The development of Warzone Mobile has been a collaborative effort involving multiple mobile development studios, including Activision Shanghai Studio, Beenox, Solid State Studios, and Digital Legends (Barcelona). This collective endeavor has resulted in a shared progression and content system that aligns with the console and computer versions of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
This synchronized ecosystem extends to various game aspects, such as player level, weapon level, and Battle Pass progression. It also covers social elements like a shared friends list and chat channels. Additionally, any packages purchased in the store will be accessible, with the exception of a few exclusive ones.
Activision has also highlighted that the game offers customizable settings. This includes various control and accessibility options, including the option to connect a remote controller for an enhanced gaming experience.
