Leo, the Sniffer Dog, Successfully Locates Missing Mumbai Child in Record Time

A six-year-old boy who went missing in Mumbai’s suburb Powai was found within hours with the help of a trained police sniffer dog named Leo. The boy went missing on November 23 while playing with his friends near his hutment in the Ashok Nagar slum. Concerned about his prolonged absence, the family members initiated a search but couldn’t locate him, prompting them to approach the police for assistance.

Due to the absence of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the slum area, the Mumbai Police utilized their well-trained dog squad. Leo, the sniffer dog, was assigned the task of tracking down the child using the scent from his T-shirt. Accompanied by the police, Leo was taken to the boy’s house and successfully traced him to an open ground just 500 meters away. The child was found in the Ambedkar Udyan area of Ashok Tower.

As of now, the police are utilizing local intelligence and other technical means to identify and track down the person responsible for the child’s disappearance.

This incident highlights the importance of trained sniffer dogs in assisting law enforcement agencies in locating missing individuals quickly and effectively.
