Russian Flags Hung in Lahti

Flags of Russia were spotted earlier this week, adorning the streets of Lahti, as reported by Etelä Suomen Sanomat.

A curious reader of the magazine, on Wednesday, raised questions about a banner that was displayed in front of the Amarillo restaurant situated on Aleksanterinkatu.

The banner in question was also adorned with Russian flags, mingled with the flags of Finland, Sweden, and the EU.

Amarillo, a part of the S group and a restaurant under the ownership of Osuuskauppa Hämeenmaa, had Marika Silver, the company’s communications manager, clarify the situation. She informed ESS that it was a simple human error, which was promptly rectified.

The objective behind these tickets is to foster a competitive environment within the street scene of Lahti. The Salpausselkä games are set to take place at the ski stadium in Lahti over the upcoming weekend.

As a result of their aggressive actions in Ukraine, Russian athletes are currently not permitted to take part in the cross-country world cup. The Games will witness participation from athletes across a total of 25 countries.
