Former news reader and Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, Kari Lake, is thrilled to have received the endorsement of New York Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik, who holds a high-ranking position in the GOP leadership in the House of Representatives. However, this endorsement may actually be great news for Democrats.
Stefanik, who was once seen as a normal and intelligent conservative Republican, has now aligned herself with the Trump circus, painting her face white and donning a red foam ball on her nose. This endorsement can be compared to the time Stefanik proudly stood next to Republican Rep. George Santos, who later faced federal crimes charges and may end up in prison.
While Stefanik may have questionable judgment when it comes to endorsements, she has expressed her support for Lake, stating that she is a proven conservative fighter who will protect American values and secure the border. Lake, in turn, is humbled by the endorsement and refers to Stefanik as a proven conservative warrior and leader.
Stefanik’s endorsements have raised eyebrows in her home state of New York, as she has supported candidates who praise Adolf Hitler, embrace conspiracy theories, and make divisive statements about Democrats. She has also backed well-known political figures like Sarah Palin and Lauren Boebert.
With Santos no longer seeking reelection and facing potential expulsion from the House, there is an opening for someone to join Stefanik’s controversial circle. And it seems that Kari Lake is eager to take that spot.
In conclusion, while Lake may be celebrating the endorsement from Stefanik, it is clear that her association with the controversial Republican figure may not necessarily be beneficial for her campaign, particularly among Democrats.
