A bartender from California has been arrested after a 27-year-old woman was found dead at a construction site. Dino Rojas-Moreno, a resident of Laguna Hills, has been charged with murder, kidnapping, and the use of a fire extinguisher in the death of Tatum Goodwin. The 26-year-old suspect is set to be arraigned on Monday and, if convicted, he could face a life sentence or the death penalty for the capital murder charges. The incident occurred when Rojas-Moreno approached Goodwin in the early hours of November 12th and forced her into a secluded alley behind a movie theater that was under construction. He allegedly assaulted and beat her with a fire extinguisher. Goodwin’s body was discovered the same morning at the construction site, concealed under a chain link fence with a sandbag on her head. Rojas-Moreno did not show up for work the following day and later claimed that he had been attacked by multiple men in Santa Ana. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer expressed his condolences for the loss of an innocent life and vowed to ensure justice is served. In response to Goodwin’s death, her friends have created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for a service and memorial in Laguna Beach, aiming to keep her memory alive in the community. Marcos Salim Heredia, the owner of Carmelita’s restaurant in Laguna Beach, praised Goodwin as a hardworking and cheerful individual who had been an assistant manager at the establishment for four years.
