Charles Leclerc and Sofiane Pamart Collaborate on Hitchhiking-Themed Album for Piano Four Hands

The racing driver, a musician since his childhood, has collaborated with a pianist to create an EP with four instrumental tracks. The Formula 1 driver, Charles Leclerc, announced the release of four songs, composed in partnership with Lille pianist Sofiane Pamart, via social media on Thursday. The EP, titled Dreamers, was made available on all platforms from Friday. The cover of the project, painted in red, is a subtle nod to Ferrari, with whom Charles Leclerc has recently renewed his contract.

Charles Leclerc is no stranger to surprising his fans with his musical side. Earlier in the year, he unveiled his love for piano by releasing a track titled AUS23 (1:1), which is a clear reference to the 2023 Australian Grand Prix that took place in April. The song quickly gained popularity, achieving over a million streams on Spotify within a few days.

Almost a year later, Leclerc is back with an EP that he and Sofiane Pamart composed in just a few days. He shared his excitement about the project, stating, “I enjoyed every second of that moment. I spent two days in the studio with Sofiane and we worked on four songs. I am very proud of the result.” Limited edition vinyls and piano sheet music of the songs will be available soon.

While this collaboration may seem unusual, it is not entirely unexpected given Sofiane Pamart’s reputation for breaking norms. The 33-year-old pianist, who studied at the Lille Conservatory, has previously collaborated with well-known names in French rap such as SCH, Koba La D, Zola, and Laylow. However, this is his first time teaming up with a Formula 1 driver.

In November 2022, Sofiane Pamart made history as the first solo pianist to fill the Accor Arena in Bercy. He expressed his elation on his Instagram account, writing, “Three years ago, no one believed in my dreams. I can’t blame anyone and I understand. Because it really seemed impossible. […] My first solo album went gold. My first international tour is sold out.” Two years later, the pianist is still making waves, now celebrating the release of his third solo album, Evening.
