Dalit Man Forced to Apologize for Salary Dispute by Woman Employer, Who Inserts Footwear in His Mouth

Police in Morbi, Gujarat, have filed a case against a woman and six others for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old Dalit man and forcing him to apologize by putting her footwear in his mouth after he demanded his salary. The incident took place on Wednesday.

The victim, Nilesh Dalsaniya, lodged a complaint, leading the Morbi city police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the woman, Vibhuti Patel, her brother Om Patel, and manager Parikshit. Vibhuti Patel is the owner of Raniba Industries Pvt Ltd.

According to the FIR, Dalsaniya was hired by Patel in October on a monthly salary of Rs 12,000. However, on October 18, he was abruptly fired. When he asked for his salary, Patel ignored him and stopped answering his calls.

On Wednesday evening, Dalsaniya, along with his brother and neighbor, went to Patel’s office. However, Om Patel and his accomplices arrived and began assaulting them. Vibhuti Patel slapped Dalsaniya and dragged him to the terrace of the commercial complex.

According to the complaint, Vibhuti Patel then forced Dalsaniya to put her footwear in his mouth and apologize for demanding his salary. She also threatened to have him killed if he returned to the area.

The accused also filmed a video in which they coerced the Dalit man to apologize to Vibhuti Patel for seeking his salary.

Dalsaniya was later taken to Morbi civil hospital for treatment. The police have booked all the accused on charges of assault, criminal intimidation, rioting, and under relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet.
