Devendra Fadnavis Mocks Rahul Gandhi Rallies, Compares Them to Ghajini Movie

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, comparing his rallies to the film “Ghajini” due to his alleged short term memory loss. Fadnavis claimed that Gandhi has forgotten the promises he made during the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly polls.

During a press conference in Raipur, Fadnavis criticized the ruling Congress in the state, accusing them of using tainted money from the liquor scam to fund the elections. He stated, “After seeing some rallies of Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, I am reminded of the film ‘Ghajini.’ They are suffering from memory loss. They have forgotten what they promised in the past and have started lying again.”

Fadnavis further alleged that the Baghel government facilitated the production of fake holograms for liquor bottles, earning Rs 2,000 crore, which is now being used for the elections. He pointed out that the Congress party fails to remember their promises, such as prohibition and the establishment of an air ambulance service.

Referring to the alleged PSC scam, Fadnavis taunted that Chhattisgarh is the only state where one needs to have political connections to secure a job. He also criticized the Baghel government over corruption allegations in the cow dung procurement scheme.

Regarding Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s promise of providing a subsidy of Rs 500 on LPG in Chhattisgarh, Fadnavis highlighted that Prime Minister Modi already provides a subsidy of Rs 400.

Fadnavis accused the Congress of taking credit for the procurement of paddy from farmers, alleging that they receive Rs 2200 per quintal from the Narendra Modi government but claim the entire procurement as their own.

Earlier, Fadnavis addressed an election rally in Dhamtari city, where he accused the Baghel government of involvement in various scams.

The Chhattisgarh Assembly polls are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 7 and 17, with the results declared on December 3.
