Match of the Heart Challenge Presented in Rome on February 17th

Today, a significant press conference took place at the prestigious Palazzo Valentini, specifically in the Sala Di Liegro. The event was organized in anticipation of the ‘Match of the Heart,’ which is scheduled to be held on February 17th. The conference was smoothly orchestrated by the moderator, Irene Taurino, who started the event. Following her, the Honorable Fabrizio Santori expressed his institutional greetings to the attendees, showing his appreciation to the representatives from all the teams participating in the Quadrangular.

After Santori, Italo Lapenna, the President of the NICO Italian National Football Olympians and Sports Champions, took the floor. Alongside the Champion Ubaldo Righetti, who was present in the room, Lapenna emphasized the importance and value of sport in society. The president of National Actors 1971, Domenico Fortunato, subsequently presented the association named “il mondo di Lalla.” The entire proceeds from the upcoming match will be generously donated to this association.

The association, “il mondo di Lalla,” was established following the tragic loss of a seven-year-old girl named Lavinia, who unfortunately became the victim of an accident in Munich. Speaking at the event were Ludovica Poggi, a lawyer and aunt of Lavinia, and Dr. Dino Poggi, her grandfather. Along with Dr. Carlo Flamment from the Cucciolo association, they movingly shared the family’s ordeal and unveiled a project. This project aims to build a school in Malawi that will accommodate fifty children and include a canteen, medical facility, a well with a water tank, a vegetable garden, a breeding farm, and a sports center.

Dr. Paola Tosi, the president of Fidas, also gave an emotional speech, reiterating the importance of selflessness and donating to others. Echoing her thoughts was Colonel Viti, the Commander of the Sports Groups of the Fiamme Gialle and Guardia di Finanza. He presented his team, which consists of numerous athletes who will participate in the match. Lastly, Ambassador Carlo Romeo, the Captain of the National Diplomatics Team, expressed his excitement for the upcoming match. He also highlighted the numerous events they had organized in the past for charitable and social purposes.
