Murder Committed as Texas Man Pursues Ex-Wife and Her Girlfriend After Broken Window Incident

A man from Texas has been sentenced to 46 years in prison for the murder of his ex-wife and assaulting her girlfriend. Allen Dale Edwards, 44, was convicted of murder in October 2016 and has filed an appeal against the decision. Edwards chased his ex-wife and her girlfriend down the highway after the girlfriend broke his window. He shot his ex-wife dead and punched the girlfriend so hard that she required reconstructive surgery. Edwards will be eligible for parole after serving half his sentence. The couple had a tumultuous relationship exacerbated by child custody disputes. Edwards repeatedly harassed his ex-wife, making taunting calls to her workplace. The tensions came to a head in March 2016 when the girlfriend broke Edwards’ window and he chased them down, resulting in the murder. The girlfriend, Samone Massey, is determined to keep Edwards in prison for the entirety of his sentence.
