The following year, he celebrated Diwali near the China border in Himachal Pradesh. In 2017, he chose to be in Kashmir’s Gurez sector, and in 2018, he celebrated in Harsil, Uttarakhand. In 2019, he visited Rajouri near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

For the 2020 Diwali, the Prime Minister visited Longewala in Jaisalmer, and the year after that, he went to Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir. Last year, he celebrated Diwali in Kargil.
