Rescue Discovers Shocking Scene: Seven Kittens and Mother Cat Found Trapped Inside Frozen Plastic Tub

A shocking discovery was made in New York when an abandoned plastic tub was found to contain a family of cats, according to an animal rescue group. The incident came to light when photos of the sealed bin, along with a pair of SpongeBob SquarePants pajama pants, were shared on a Facebook pet group on November 15. The cats, consisting of a mother and seven kittens, were immediately taken to receive veterinary care by Noah’s Kingdom Humane Society, an Albany-based animal rescue. The organization later updated that the family had been placed in foster care and were doing well. Alongside providing medical treatment for the abandoned cats, the humane society reported the incident to the police and animal control in the area, deeming the circumstances “unthinkable.” They also appealed to the public for any information that could lead to identifying the individuals responsible for the inhumane act. Despite being at full capacity with other animals, the nonprofit managed to rescue the cats, thanks to the dedication of a volunteer who is currently looking after them. The organization shared that since being placed in foster care, the cats have been thriving under the volunteer’s loving and capable care. They are described as playful and affectionate. Although there have been inquiries about adopting the cats, they are still undergoing necessary check-ups and will be available for adoption at a later stage. The incident occurred in Colonie, which is located approximately 10 miles north of Albany.
