TCL is gradually replacing Roku with Google TV as its smart TV interface for its budget 4-Series TVs. However, the TCL 4-Series and 5-Series are still great value options, with the 6-Series being slightly more premium. That being said, Vizio’s V-Series offers slightly better picture quality and is the best entry-level TV overall.
According to CNET’s David Katzmaier, the Vizio TV provides a balanced and accurate picture, along with features like Dolby Vision support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth compatibility, and variable refresh rate for smoother gaming. The downside of the Vizio is its smart TV platform, Vizio SmartCast, which can be sluggish and cluttered with ads. However, users have the option to purchase a Roku 4K Express Plus streaming device for around $40.
The price mentioned is for the 50-inch model, but the Vizio TV is available in various sizes up to 75 inches.
