The trailer for the film “Sam Bahadur” was released on Tuesday. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, and stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The trailer showcases various stages of Sam Manekshaw’s army life, with Vicky Kaushal adapting certain mannerisms to portray the real-life character. One powerful dialogue in the trailer is when Sam Manekshaw is asked to join the Pakistan army and he responds, “Is there anything more I need to prove my Indianness?”. The trailer also features dialogue between Sam Manekshaw and Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh. The film is set against the backdrop of the social-political scenario of India-Pakistan-Kashmir dynamics. Vicky Kaushal shared the trailer on Instagram, describing it as a glimpse into the life of India’s Greatest Soldier. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra as Silloo Manekshaw and Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi. “Sam Bahadur” is set to release on December 1, 2023.
