Sources: Revanth Reddy Tipped to Become the Chief Minister of Telangana

The Congress high command has reportedly chosen Anumula Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Congress chief, as their preferred candidate for the Chief Minister post in the state. This decision is said to have been made by the central leadership of the party, led by Mallikarjun Kharge. The final announcement will be made after a meeting between Kharge and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who was in charge of the Congress campaign in Telangana.

Revanth Reddy, who played a significant role in leading the party to victory in the recent Assembly polls, has faced opposition from within the party on his path to becoming the Chief Minister. The swearing-in ceremony, which was scheduled for the previous day, had to be canceled due to resistance from some senior Congress members in the state. Former state Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Damodar Rajanarasimha are among those who have reportedly voiced their opposition to Revanth Reddy’s candidature. They have cited pending corruption cases and the poor performance of the Congress in Mr. Reddy’s Lok Sabha constituency as reasons for their dissent.
