Anton Lundell Emerges as a Hero, Jesse Puljujärvi Excluded from Lineup

Anton Lundell emerged as the hero leading his team to an overtime victory against Ottawa.

In Ice hockey, Finnish NHL forward Jesse Puljujärvi was absent during the match where his Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the New York Islanders. The game concluded with a 4–5 score after extra time.

Valtteri Puustinen of Pittsburgh managed to score a goal in the match, but the Islanders’ Adam Pelech became the star of the game, shooting the puck past Alex Nedeljkovic and into the net, with less than a minute left in overtime.

Puljujärvi is not injured, indicating he was healthy but excluded from the lineup.

The NY Rangers triumphed over Dallas with a 3–1 score. Finns Kaapo Kako from Rangers and Miro Heiskanen from Dallas both managed to score. Heiskanen scored his team’s sole goal in the second period during a power play.

In his 400th NHL game, Heiskanen surprised the NY Rangers goalie, Igor Shesterkinin, with his wrist shot. However, Dallas’ troubles worsened as they suffered a third consecutive loss.

Erik Haula, representing Finland, also scored during the New Jersey and Washington match, hitting the puck into the net in the third set. However, the Devils lost 6–2.

In Florida, Anton Lundell emerged as the hero, leading his team to an overtime victory against Ottawa. The Panthers won the match 3–2.

Lundell scored the winning goal with assists from Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Montour. Lundell has now scored in three consecutive matches. His season performance stands at 7+16.

Joonas Korpisalo of Ottawa made 31 saves in the match. This marked Florida’s sixth consecutive win.
